Constructive criticism

Most people react to criticism by instinctively beginning to self defend. Few people (honestly) like the criticism and receive it with a smile, even when it is completely justified. The more you care about someone or depend on their opinion, the stronger your reaction is. But is every criticism negative and what actually makes constructive criticism? Do you know what are the benefits of criticism for you or the very notion of it makes your desire to defend to the last drop of your blood grows?

Self-esteem (26/4/2012)

Self-esteem is the key to achieving any goal in life. Those who have low self-esteem are those who are either preventing themselves from being successful and happy or are incapable of reaching their full potential. Helping someone building their self-confidence is important and tough task, not only for the person who is in question but to the Life Coach as well. You already know the consequences. Sabotaging the relationships, not being fully functional at work, self criticism, victims of the circumstances…You name it!

How to help build one’s self esteem (self confidence, self worth…)? It is very important to identify the sources that bring the self-confidence down in the first place. Becoming aware of this is getting to the root of the problems. Decide to change this now. Change your negative thinking, acting, doing. Start accepting, loving and appreciating yourself. Your creativity and intuition will help you on that path.

Start celebrating little achievements and steps you take. Practice self discipline. Think of what you believe in. Change negative into positive beliefs.

Surround yourself with positive people. Do not accept unconstructive criticism…
